Mick Cronin lands the top player in the state of California. Five star small forward Peyton Watson has committed to UCLA. He chose the Bruins over Arizona, Washington, Kentucky, and many others. Watson is UCLA’s second commitment of the 2021 class.
Peyton Watson is a 6’7″ small forward from Long Beach, California. He has long arms which helps him be a good defender. His offense also continues to improve. UCLA was always the school considered the favorite. Many believed he would stay in California or at least attend a school on the west coast. Kentucky and Michigan were two schools mentioned if he decided to leave the west coast for college. However, the buzz has been about UCLA for months in his recruitment. He finally made it official and committed to UCLA.
Peyton Watson is now the centerpiece to this UCLA recruiting class. The Bruin’s also have a commitment from four star guard Will McClendon for 2021. I expect UCLA to land at least one more commitment to this recruiting class before it is all said and done. Mick Cronin has proven he can recruit at a high level. Before joining the new G League program, five star guard Daishen Nix was also committed to the Bruins. UCLA is a rising team in the PAC-12. They will be one of the top teams in the conference this upcoming season.
