The Nittany Lions got a bye week to see the CFP rankings and prepare for a big game on the road vs Minnesota. PSU must not overlook the Gophers or they may find themselves with a loss come Saturday.

6. Oregon
Last Week: W over USC 56-24

7. Georgia
Last Week: W over Florida 24-17
The UGA defense played really solid last week and got a big win in Jacksonville vs Florida. Up next is a home game vs Missouri. They are in the driver’s seat for an SEC Title appearance.
8. Utah
Last Week: W over Washington 33-28
Utah got a decent win vs the Huskies and are now 8-1 on the year. The Utes get a bye week to see the first 2 CFP rankings and head into the last 3 games with a grasp on what they need to do to make a run at the Top 4.
9. Oklahoma
Last Week: Bye
The Sooners got a bye week to recharge after a loss to Kansas State. This week they welcome Iowa State to Norman for what could be a decent win to add to a currently below average resume.

Last Week: Bye
The Golden Gophers got a bye week to prepare for their biggest game in years at home against Penn State. They are underrated and deserve more respect than they are getting.

11. Baylor
Last Week: W over West Virginia 17-14
The Bears lost 3 fumbles vs WVU and had to block a FG to win, but they are 8-0. Up next is a tricky tilt vs TCU which could be a trap game with Oklahoma coming to Waco the week after.
12. Florida
Last Week: L vs Georgia 24-17
Florida just couldn’t get it done on defense when they forced third downs against Georgia. They likely are eliminated from the CFP. Up next is a home game against Vanderbilt to get to 7-2.
13. Michigan
Last Week: W over Maryland 38-7
The Wolverines took care of business against Maryland, but they don’t quite control their destiny in the Big Ten East. Up next, they have a bye week and would really like to see Penn St lose to Minnesota.
14. Auburn
Last Week: W over Ole Miss 20-14
Auburn won, but not handily vs a subpar Ole Miss team. Up next is a bye week before they face 2 Top 10 teams in 3 weeks.

15. Cincinnati
Last Week: W over East Carolina 46-43
The Bearcats snuck this one out by the thinnest of margins Saturday against the Pirates. Either way, the losses by SMU and App State give Cincy the lead for the NY6 bid. Up next is a home game against UConn to get to 8-1.
16. Iowa
Last Week: Bye
The Hawkeyes got a bye week to prepare for a trip to Madison and a huge Big Ten West match-up vs Wisconsin. A loss would all but end their chances at the Big Ten West Title.
17. Notre Dame
Last Week: W over Virginia Tech 21-20
The Irish barely pulled out the win at home vs the Hokies, but a big run late from Ian Book got them the win. ND travels to Duke this week and if they perform like they did vs Va tech, you can expect another close game.

22. Wake Forest
Last Week: W over NC State 44-10
The Demon Deacons demolished NC State last weekend and moved to 7-1. Next is a trip to Blacksburg to face Virginia Tech ahead of a huge trip to Clemson. You can’t help but wonder what it would be like if Wake had beaten Louisville.
23. UCF
Last Week: W over Houston 44-29
UCF got a win over Houston this weekend, but its not quite the Houston we expected this year. Nonetheless, the Knights are 7-2, but still need help in the AAC East. Up next is a trip to Tulsa, who has been known to keep it close vs ranked teams.
24. San Diego State
Last Week: Bye
The Aztecs got a bye week and may sneak into the CFP Top 25 this week. Up next is a home game against Nevada. This SDSU defense hasn’t allowed over 23 points all season.

25. Indiana
Last Week: W over Northwestern 34-3
The Hoosiers blew out the Wildcats and all the sudden Indiana is 7-2 going into their second bye week. After the bye week is a trip to Penn St, but #9WIndiana could become a thing if they win their bowl or pull an upset in the regular season.
26. SMU
Last Week: L vs Memphis 54-48
The Mustangs became the last G5 undefeated to fall and it was a tough loss to Memphis. The offense scored plenty, but the defense couldn’t get stops. Up next is a home game against ECU to try to get to 9-1.
