The Oregon Ducks received their 6th commitment in the 2019 class, as QB Cale Millen made the call. Millen is one of the best overall players in the state of Washington. His commitment brings the Ducks up to the #24 class in the nation and #2 in the Pac-12. Cale is listed as a Pro-Style QB, but he can sure turn on the jets when he needs to.

It has only been recently that Cale has started to receive attention from big-time college programs. Since the beginning of his Junior year, Millen has gained over 30 pounds to his slender frame. Doctors have also said that he will likely grow another 2 inches and he already stands at 6’2″. Millen is only listed as a 3-star prospect, but there are plenty of things to love about his game. Millen is a strong armed QB that can make all of the throws that are asked of him. It will be fun to watch the Washington QB play in the Oregon offense.
In fact, being a star QB is in his blood. His father happens to be former Washington Huskies and NFL QB Hugh Millen. The kid looks just like Hugh on the football field. However, it is clear that Cale is much more comfortable when he has to use his feet to escape pressure. Still it is easy to see that he received the throwing arm of his father. In his sophomore season, Cale set the school record of passing yards (400) and 7 touchdowns in one game. That game alone is enough to fill up a highlight reel.
Mike’s Take
Cale Millen is clearly becoming one of the fastest rising recruits in the nation. Once he hit his junior year, it was as if he became a different person. This is solely because of his second-to-none competitiveness. I believe that he will continue to add weight and become even more of a force. Oregon has done a great job in recruiting QBs over the past couple of years, and this year does not seem to be different. It seems that in a few years Tyler Shough and Cale Millen will be fighting for that starting QB position. Although Shough was the higher rated prospect, Millen seems to be blooming at the right time. It will certainly be a fun QB competition to watch in Eugene for the next several years.
