Wesley Grimes, the 3-star wide receiver, made it official today when he announced his commitment to play football at Wake Forest University.
Grimes is listed at 6’2”, 173 pounds. He chose to play his college ball right down the road from where he currently plays his high school football. The super-talented wideout has been filling up the stat sheet at Millbrook High School in Raleigh for the last few years; dancing and keeping things upbeat and loose all the while.
Grimes had 15 offers officially listed, but chose to stay class to home when he selected Wake Forest to be the place to take next step in his football career. He had received offered from several SEC universities including: Kentucky, Tennessee, and Vanderbilt. Other ACC schools that offered Grimes were: Duke, Louisville, Virginia, NC State, North Carolina, and Notre Dame.
Grimes becomes the second WR commit in the 2022 class for the Demon Deacons and greatly increases their overall recruiting rank within the ACC, previously ranked 13th.
Grimes received an offer from the Demon Deacons on January 28th, 2021 and took an official visit to the Winston Salem campus on June 18th.
The wideout is a welcome addition for the already potent Wake Forest offense.
