Washington Transfer Bryan Penn-Johnson Commits to LSU

Will Wade has answered a major question in the front court for this upcoming season. Washington transfer Bryan Penn-Johnson has committed to LSU. After five star Moussa Cisse chose Memphis over LSU a few days ago, Will Wade needed another body in the front court. The big man will need to file for a waiver for immediate eligibility. If granted, he will have two years of eligibility left.

Bryan Penn-Johnson is a 7’0 center originally from Long Beach, California. He is a former four star recruit from the class of 2018. Penn-Johnson chose Washington over Depaul during his high school recruiting process. Last season he averaged 1.8 PPG and 0.8 REB at Washington under head coach Mike Hopkins. He decided to enter the transfer portal after two years at Washington. He has made it official and committed to LSU.

Bryan Penn-Johnson will play a big role this upcoming season if he is eligible. As mentioned above, he will request a waiver in hopes of playing this upcoming season. Penn-Johnson’s shot blocking could play a big part of the Tiger’s success next season. If his waiver is approved, LSU will immediately become one of the favorites to win the SEC.
