From 2003 to the year 2013 the name Asante Samuel brought fear to Wide Receivers and Quarterbacks in the NFL. Samuel was a 4 time All-Pro Cornerback and two time Super Bowl champ with the Patriots.
Just four years after Samuel ended his NFL career his son, Asante Samuel Jr, has become one of the hottest names in the 2018 recruiting class. Schools from all over the nation wanted the talented Florida Cornerback on their team, but Samuel Jr decided to end his recruitment on Thursday evening by announcing his commitment to Florida State over Miami. The name Asante Samuel will continue to be feared by many, especially ACC Quarterbacks over the next few years.
Samuel Jr. is a much more highly touted recruit than his father and is poised to make some early noise for the Seminoles. It is clear that the class of ’18 Cornerback has picked up a few tricks from his father as his technique is nearly perfect, and he is very good in off-coverage. It is clear that talent runs in the Samuel family.
