Just two weeks after Major Applewhite and Houston extended an offer to Malik Jackson, the speedy wide receiver quickly reserved his spot in the Cougars’ 2018 class by announcing his commitment. The under-the-radar prospect from the Lone Star state has a ton of upside, and could provide the Houston wide receiving corp with a boost of speed.

Although Jackson may not have the D-1 offers that some of the other star-studded recruits have, he has the ability to take it to the house anytime he touches the ball. He put up over 1600 yards his junior season against 6A competition in Texas, which is the toughest conference in the state. Arkansas State was his first offer and head coach Blake Anderson has a knack for finding talent before the big names come calling. We expect that Jackson will pick up a few more offers before the recruiting process is over, but ultimately Houston will hold on to this recruiting gem.
