It’s time for Week 14 in college football. And it’s time for predictions. Lots of good football and interesting match-ups. Be sure to check out the ATS picks at the end.
Top 25
Appalachian State 24 (25) ULL 21 – This is an amazing Friday Night game between two of the top teams in the SunBelt. It’s been a slightly down year for the Mountaineers but I trust Zac Thomas to get the job done.
(24) Tulsa 27 Navy 20 – Tulsa has a good defense and Navy slows the game down with the option. This game could be lower scoring than what I have but I like Tulsa in a close one.
(23) Oregon 27 California 20 – The Ducks haven’t looked sharp all season and last week it finally caught up to them. I expect them to bounce back this week with a win but they can’t take the Golden Bears for granted.
(22) Washington 31 Stanford 14 – The Huskies are still undefeated and need to start having some comfortable wins if they want an opportunity for the CFP.
(21) Marshall 31 Rice 13 – The Herd are rolling this season and the owls play tough but I expect Marshall to roll to another victory this week.
(20) USC 38 Washington State 20 – The Trojans have potential to go undefeated and win the Pac 12 and they’ll stay perfect vs WSU.
(19) Iowa 31 Illinois 21 – I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if the Illini got a big upset here but Iowa is the better overall team.
(17) UNC 63 Western Carolina 14 – Tar Heels win in a blowout.
(16) Wisconsin 27 (12) Indiana 17 – The Hoosiers will be without star QB Michael Penix Jr and for that reason I’m picking the Badgers.
TCU 27 (15) Oklahoma State 21 – I’m going with the Horned Frogs to take down the ranked cowboys.
(13) BYU 34 (18) Coastal Carolina 27 – This game was scheduled after Liberty had to cancel because of Covid 19. What an incredible matchup and it’s definitely my favorite game of the week. People are saying Zach Wilson will carve up the Coastal Defense and I’m not sure I agree. I believe Wilson will lead BYU to victory but the Chanticleers will BATTLE and keep this close.
(11) Oklahoma 42 Baylor 21 – The Sooners are rolling after starting the season with two losses, I expect them to keep winning and eventually win the Big 12 Championship.
(10) Miami 38 Duke 17 – The Canes are having a miraculous season and need to win this week and pray for a VT win.
(9) Iowa State 27 West Virginia 17 – Fun Fact, I haven’t predicted a West Virginia game incorrect all season. This however was a tough one to pick because WVU has the defense capable of shutting down the cyclones offense. I believe Brock Purdy & Breece Hall end up making some big time plays and lead the cyclones to a win.
(8) Georgia 38 Vanderbilt 7 – 74% of bets are coming in on UGA -36, So I’ll fade the public and take vandy to cover on a late game TD capped off by a Sarah Fuller XP.
(6) Florida 38 Tennessee 24 – Tennessee plans to play two QBs including star Freshman Harrison Bailey. I believe Bailey could help the vols score some points vs the Gators but don’t be surprised to see a Jarrett Guarantano Pick Six.
(5) Texas A&M 27 Auburn 17 – I wouldn’t be surprised to see an upset in this game especially if the Aggies play like they did last week.
(4) Ohio State 45 Michigan State 14 – The Buckeyes need to not only win but start impressing in victory. The Spartans can play well one week and terrible the next but I believe the Buckeyes will win this game big.
(3) Clemson 49 Virginia Tech 17 – The Tigers need to win this game to make the ACC Championship Game and I expect Trevor Lawrence & Travis Etienne to eat this Hokies defense alive.
(2) Notre Dame 45 Syracuse 10 – This should be an easy win for the Irish.
(1) Alabama 52 LSU 14 – The Tide are looking for revenge and I expect they’ll beat the Tigers by as many points as possible.
Top Unranked Games
Virginia 27 Boston College 24 – This is an excellent game and could be a Defensive Showdown. Jeff Hafley has had a phenomenal first season and this would cap it off but the Hoos play good sound Defense & Brennan Armstrong can make plays at QB.
NC State 37 Georgia Tech 27 – The Wolfpack have been a decent surprise since an opening week loss. GT is making strides but I believe the Wolfpack are the better team.
Memphis 31 Tulane 27 – This is a sneaky good game for Week 14. Tulane has one of the top defensive players in College Football with DE/LB Patrick Johnson and the Tigers have a Senior QB Brady White who can light up a scoreboard.
Penn State 31 Rutgers 24 – The Nittany Lions vs the Scarlet Knights, who would’ve thought this could be a good game and not a blowout this season? Not me!!! But in reality this could be a close game because Greg Schiano has RU playing very well.
