Jeremy Ruckert announced that he will be making his college decision on July 17th at 3PM ET. Ruckert is the #1 player out of the state of New York and the #1 TE in the nation for the 2018 class. He will be choosing between Michigan, Ohio State, Wisconsin, and Notre Dame. Although his decision won’t be made official until the 17th of this month, we have a feeling that Ruckert may already have his mind made up.

Ruckert has an extremely good relationship with his primary recruiter over at Ohio State, Greg Schiano, and we think that might put the Buckeyes over the top. Schiano might not be his position coach once he steps on campus, but he has proven to be one of the best recruiters in the nation so far this year. He has already helped tOSU gain commitments from OT Matt Jones, S Josh Procter, and S Jaiden Woodbey, who are all high four-star/borderline five-star recruits. We predict that Schiano and the Buckeyes will add the top TE in the nation in Ruckert, as well.
Ruckert is an extremely athletic TE that will create mismatches for opposing defenses. He has the speed to create separation that will give linebackers trouble when covering him. He also has the size and athleticism to get over any defensive back. He currently plays the WR position at Lindenhurst Senior High School, so he will have to get used playing from the line of scrimmage. However, that shouldn’t be a problem for a player of his makeup. Wherever he ends up, the strength and conditioning coach will have some fun molding this kid into one of the nation’s top NFL prospects, as we see him being a 1st or 2nd round pick when he eventually declares for the NFL draft. It’s going to be tough for defenses to prepare for a beast like this.
