We have done the DFS homework for you, and here are is our breakdown for Week 3 in college football. We are using DraftKings numbers, so you have $50,000 to pick 8 players ($6,250 AVG).
CFB $100K Saturday Kickoff ($12 Entry)
Quarterbacks
Top Plays
- Trevor Lawrence, Clemson, $9,700
- Desmond Ridder, Cincinnati, $8,700
Everyone has a different approach when it comes to DFS. These plays will guarantee you 2-3 TDs. However, it’s also possible both of these QBs see limited time in the second half with big leads. You can’t go wrong playing any this pair, but I’m looking for better value.
Best Value Plays
- Spencer Sanders, Oklahoma St, $7,600
- Jeff Sims, Georgia Tech, $5,300
You can get Spencer Sanders for $2,100 less than Trevor Lawrence. That’s what I call value. You could possibly get the same amount of production, fantasy wise, for much cheaper. As far as Jeff Sims, he’s only entering his second collegiate game but I’m getting a starter for a very low price. Sims may make some Freshman mistakes, but I also see potential in him and believe he gets 2 or so TDs on Saturday.
QB to Avoid
- Tommy Devito, Syracuse, $5,900
Devito didn’t look sharp vs UNC and his O-Line let him down. Pitt has a really good D-Line & secondary which will cause more havoc for Devito.
Running Backs
Top Plays
- Travis Etienne, Clemson, $9,200
- Chuba Hubbard, Oklahoma St, $8,500
- Kyren Williams, Notre Dame, $8,400
Hubbard is my favorite play of the week. You get him for $700 less than Etienne, and I expect at least 2-4 TDs from him. I’m passing on Etienne this week because of the price and the realization of why would Clemson run him to death in a meaningless blowout game. Williams made a massive impression last week vs Duke and could have a field day vs USF.
Best Value Plays
- Otis Anderson, UCF, $6,100
- Elijah Mitchell, Louisiana, $5,800
- Trey Ragas, Louisiana, $5,200
Otis Anderson is a big weapon in the passing game as well as getting carries and isn’t too highly priced. The Louisiana Duo of Elijah Mitchell and Trey Ragas are both priced low. If you want to take a chance on a RB who can get you a TD take a Ragin Cajun RB.
Wide Receivers
Top Plays
- Amari Rodgers, Clemson, $8,300
- Alec Pierce, Cincinnati, $7,900
- Tylan Wallace, Oklahoma St, $7,700
Rodgers is the highest priced receiver this week. There’s a great chance that he gets a TD, but it’s also possible Clemson runs a lot and gets a big lead causing Rodgers to sit in the 2nd half. Of these three, I’d rather have Tylan Wallace, the clear cut #1 receiver in a high powered offense for $600 less than Rodgers.
Best Value Plays
- Xavier Gaines, Marshall, $4,600
- Braden Galloway, Clemson, $4,500
- Braden Lenzy, Notre Dame, $3,800
I’m not sure how many casual fans know about Xavier Gaines, but he’s a super athletic former QB who’s as fast as a wide receiver. Gaines had a receiving TD vs EKU. Braden Galloway looked like a top option for Trevor Lawrence and caught 5 passes for 60 yards. Braden Lenzy is a player who you can get for dirt cheap at $3,800. Last week he didn’t catch a pass, but fellow Irish receiver Ben Skowronek is Doubtful to play Saturday, which will open up an opportunity for Lenzy.
My Lineup
- QB: Spencer Sanders, Oklahoma St, $7,600
- RB: Kyren Williams, Notre Dame, $8,400
- RB: Chuba Hubbard, Oklahoma St, $8,500
- WR: Dylan Deveney, Georgia Tech, $3,200
- WR: Braden Lenzy, Notre Dame, $3,800
- WR: Tylan Wallace, Oklahoma St, $7,700
- FLEX: Trey Ragas, Louisiana, $5,200
- SUPER FLEX: Jeff Sims, Georiga Tech, $5,300
You can play anyone in the Super Flex but I always go QB.
