Top 5 athlete in the 2018 class, L’Christian Smith, announced his commitment to THE Ohio State University and head coach Urban Meyer. Smith has the athleticism to play both basketball and football at the next level, but we expect him to settle in on football, as we see a very bright future for the tall lanky athlete there. He can play a multitude of positions for the Buckeyes, but his highest ceiling is definitely at the receiver position.

L’Christian towers over the competition at 6’6″, but is only around 200 pounds. So the OSU strength and conditioning coach will certainly look to add on some solid weight once he steps on campus. With the size and speed that he possesses, Smith will provide an excellent deep threat for the OSU quarterbacks for years to come. He can also go up and get the ball in the end zone as well, making him an excellent option in redzone situations. Alongside #1 TE in the nation, Jeremy Ruckert, defenses will have to pick and choose their poison for the next four years. With his commitment, Ohio State has only solidified their place as the #1 class in the nation for 2018.
