Camren McDonald out of Long Beach in Southern California committed to the USC Trojans and head coach Clay Helton. McDonald is one of the top TE’s in the 2018 class. However, he will play a hybrid WR/TE position in college, as he has the athleticism of a great wide receiver, but has the frame to become JACKED in a college strength and conditioning program. When he gets to Pasadena, McDonald will have the chance to come in early and split reps with Cary Angeline.

Camren had been considering committing to the Trojans for the better part of this spring, so we believe that this commitment is firm (although other schools will not stop pursuing him). McDonald’s father may have been the Trojan’s biggest fan in this race, as he will be able to attend all of his son’s games, and Camren will be able to get his degree in Broadcasting, as USC has one of the best programs in the nation. This is a huge pickup for Clay Helton, and we see this kid making an early impact as soon as he steps on campus.
