Paul Tyson, one of the top Qbs in the 2019 recruiting class, shocks the nation and picks Alabama. Just kidding. This comes as no surprise for many reasons. First of all, what quarterback wouldn’t want to play for a team that has become one of the biggest dynasties in all of sports? Secondly, Tyson grew up a big fan of the Crimson Tide and has strong ties to the program. We’re guessing that you’ve probably heard of a guy named Bear Bryant. He happens to be Paul Tyson’s great-grandfather. Needless to say, this recruitment was probably over before it ever began. After his most recent visit, Tyson knew this was where he wanted to be. However, he waited until he could let head coach Nick Saban and the rest of the coaching staff know in person.

Tyson and his head coach swear that all bets were off when the Alabama QBs recruitment started to take off. Paul had taken visits to schools like Michigan, Kentucky, among others. Yet, none were able to impress him more than his visits to Tuscaloosa. It is easy to imagine that a spring visit to Michigan isn’t as alluring as the many visits he has taken to see the Crimson Tide play over the years. 5 of which were National Title games.
Although Tyson is the son of a college football legend, you don’t get the kind of offer list that he has with strong bloodlines alone. Tyson chose Bama over schools like Clemson, Oregon, USC, LSU, among others. With arm-strength like his, it is easy to see what schools see in him. Because of his arm-strength and knowledge of the game, he is able to make any throw, especially the throws that are asked of him at the high school level. From cross-field to short routes, this kid can sling it. Alabama fans can’t wait to see him donning the Crimson Tide jersey, making his great-grandfather proud.
