Pypeline Top 10 Players of the Week for Week 6

Week 6 is in the books. However, before we turn the page to Week 7, we need to recognize the Pypeline Top 10 Players of the Week. These are the players that stood out, putting up huge numbers, often helping to carry their team victory. So without further ado, here they are.

1. Jett Duffey, QB, Texas Tech

The Red Raiders offense was humming against #21 Oklahoma St, and Duffey was the biggest reason why. He went 26-44 for 424 yds and 5 total touchdowns (4 passing, 1 rushing) in Texas Tech’s 45-35 upset of the Cowboys.

2. Jonathan Taylor, RB, Wisconsin

The possible Heisman candidate keeps rolling along for Wisconsin. Taylor had 19 carries for 186 yards and 4 touchdowns in the #8 Badgers’ 48-0 blowout of Kent St. And he made it look easy.

3. Joe Burrow, QB, LSU

Joe Burrow, aka Jeaux Burrow, aka Jeaux Burreaux has been on fire this year. And he didn’t cool off vs Utah St. The Tigers QB was 27-38 for 344 yds passing and 5 touchdowns to go along with 42 yds rushing and 1 TD in the 42-6 shellacking of the Aggies.

4. Cale Garrett, LB, Missouri

The Tigers put up a lot of points against Troy (42-10), but Cale Garrett’s play shouldn’t be overshadowed. The linebacker had 5 tackles, 2 TFL, 2 QB Hurries, 2 INTs, and 1 defensive touchdown, before leaving the game with an injury.

5. Kenneth Gainwell, RB, Memphis

Memphis had a big 52-33 victory over ULM, and Gainwell was a huge part of that. The 5’11” 191 RB had 14 carries for 209 yds rushing and 2 touchdowns. He also added 42 yds receiving. Just a huge game to help the Tigers to the W and now they’re ranked.

6. Khalil Tate, QB, Arizona

This was the Khalil Tate that we all know and loved from a couple of years ago! The Wildcats QB led UA to a huge 35-30 conference win over Colorado. Tate finished with 404 yds passing, along with 23 yds on the ground, and 3 touchdowns, as Arizona stayed unbeaten in conference play.

7. JK Dobbins, RB, Ohio St

The Buckeyes had been a runaway freight train so far this year. And Week 6 was no different. tOSU took on a tough Michigan St defense at the Horseshoe, and JK Dobbins and company had their way with Sparty. Dobbins had 24 carries for 172 yds and a touchdown in the #4 Buckeyes 34-10 win over B1G rival #25 MSU.

8. Lamont Wade, S, Penn St

The Nittany Lion defense has been sneaky great this year. And their game against Purdue was more of the same. PSU S Lamont Wade racked up a huge game on the defensive side of the ball with 11 tackles, 1 sack, and 1 PD en route to holding the Boilermakers to only 7 points.

9. Sam Howell, QB, North Carolina

“The SHOW” has the Tar Heels looking great. True freshman QB Sam Howell led the Heels to their 3rd victory of the season, as he went 35-51 for 376 yds and 4 touchdowns in UNC’s 38-22 over conference foe Georgia Tech.

10. Omar Bayless, WR, Arkansas St

The Red Wolves fell a little short vs Georgia St. However, it wasn’t due to Omar’s play. Bayless put up a monster game, racking up 8 rec for 156 yds and 3 touchdowns.
