Minnesota receives their first commitment in the 2020 class as WR Jonathan Mann announced his decision. Mann is arguably the best player of his class in the state of Minnesota and is a Top 300 player nationally. As we mentioned in our last Golden Golphers article, Minnesota fans can expect the tides to be turning in terms of recruiting. Especially with Head Coach PJ Fleck in charge.

Mann already has great size for a rising senior in HS. Although he has a 6’4″ frame, he fills out for a kid that has yet to be in a college strength and conditioning program. Mann is listed at about 190 pounds and is anything but lanky. The talented WR also had offers from Arkansas, Iowa, and Iowa State. However, this offer list will likely grow significantly. The Golden Gophers have already gone to social media to show how pumped they are.

Jonathan is certainly on to something. It seems that recruits are buying what PJ Fleck is selling in Minnesota. They will be an exciting team to watch in the B1G with a few more years of reeling in these top prospects.
Mike’s Take
As we said in our article about Tyler Nubin, this is the first of many recruits that the Golden Gophers will start contending for. Not just contending, but winning over. Jonathan Mann is an extremely physical receiver that won’t get beaten at the line of scrimmage. With his size and length, he will end up being PJ Fleck’s deep threat for the next few years. Check out his highlights here to see just how talented the kid is. Granted, he might not be facing the toughest competition, but impressive nonetheless. We predict that Minnesota will finally crack the top 25 in the final recruiting rankings with this 2020 class. You heard it here first!
