There are some big B1G games this week. We break down the 3 biggest. These games will go a long way toward determining who plays in the B1G championship and possibly who plays in the College Football Playoffs. Let’s go!
#13 Wisconsin @ #3 Ohio State
#13 Wisconsin travels to Columbus this weekend to take on the #3 Buckeyes in what is presumed to be one of the top match-ups of the year. These two teams both rank in the Top 3 in PPG differential. These are two of the most elite defenses in the country, both allowing less than 8 points per game to their opponents. I expect this to be a low scoring affair as both teams like to run the ball and possessions should be long and weather is supposed to be bad. This Ohio State offense will likely be too much for the Badgers to handle. Give me Ohio State and lay the points! (Ohio State -14)
#6 Penn State @ Michigan State
The Nittany Lions travel to East Lansing after a dramatic win over #19 Michigan. The Spartans, on the other hand, have had an extra week of rest and should be ready for a fight. Penn State is simply too strong for Michigan State to handle. Sparty’s offense has been subpar this season, while Penn State is sitting comfortably with a Top 15 defense. Don’t expect Dantonio and this offense to put up more than 17 points. Penn State wins by 8. (Penn State -6)
#8 Notre Dame @ #19 Michigan
One of my favorite match-ups of the week features a long lasting rivalry between Notre Dame and Michigan. Ian Book is playing good football, but so is this Michigan defense. The Wolverines come into the game allowing just 13 PPG to P5 opponents. The Irish are scoring less than 30 PPG against P5 teams this year. Brian Kelly and the Fighting Irish come into Ann Arbor as a -1 favorite. However, this is a place they have been dealt 4 straight losses and haven’t won in over 14 calendar years. Rumors are flying around Jim Harbaugh and a possible departure. The team will rally around him and be ready to go. I like Michigan to win this game. (Michigan +1)
