Alabama LB Cornelius Bennett wore #97 when he was terrorizing SEC offenses. Bennett was a 3-time First Team All-American from 1984-1986. He (along with Woodrow Lowe) is one of only two Crimson Tide players to make three All-American teams. In 1986, he won SEC Player of the Year. He also won the Lombardi award, and finished 7th in the Hesiman voting. He ended his career with 287 tackles, 21.5 sacks, and 3 fumble recoveries. Bennett was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2005.
