There are 63 days until college football returns. Today, we’ll look back at 2006, when Hawaii QB Colt Brennan set the NCAA record with 63 touchdowns in a season.
In 2006, Hawaii QB Colt Brennan was coming off a solid 2005 season. However, no one could’ve predicted what was in store. Colt set an NCAA record with 58 touchdown passes in a single season. Those plus his 5 rushing touchdowns gave him another NCAA record: 63 total touchdowns in a single season. During the season, he finished first in the country in highest passer efficiency rating. He racked up 5,549 yards passing, a school record. That year he also finished First-team All-WAC, and won the WAC Player of the Year. He finished Third-team AP All-American, and came in 6th in the Heisman race.
