There are 52 days until college football returns. Today we look back at Alabama TE OJ Howard’s 52-yard touchdown vs LSU.
In 2013, the #13 LSU Tigers came into Tuscaloosa looking to pull the upset of the #1 ranked, undefeated Alabama Crimson Tide. And partly through the 2nd quarter, they were doing just that. To that point the Tiger defense had stifled the Tide offense. They needed a spark. So Bama QB AJ McCarron turned to his big time tight end OJ Howard:
The 52 yard strike turned the game and completely stole any momentum that the Tigers had. The life had been sucked out of them, and it was just what Alabama needed. With that touchdown, the Tide would go on to outscore LSU 35-10 the rest of the way, winning the game 38-17.
