Kyree Walker is one of the top players in the country in basketball. Walker is a 4-star recruit from Phoenix, Arizona. He originally committed to Arizona State in 2017. However, he decommitted from the University a year later. As of late, Walker’s recruitment has been a very interesting one. He is currently not enrolled in high school. He is considering enrolling into college early or pursuing a pro career overseas, before entering the NBA draft.
Early enrollment changes things
Memphis, Kansas, and Arizona were the early favorites to land Walker before the news came out of him potentially enrolling early. Now, all the buzz has been centered around two schools: Arkansas and Western Kentucky. The Razorbacks are the favorite to land Walker, due to his relationship with head coach Eric Musselman. However, do not count coach Rick Stansbury and the Hilltoppers just yet.
Back in September, Stansbury visited Kyree. WKU has been involved ever since. Walker would make an immediate impact for the Hilltoppers, and would be one of the best players in the Conference USA.
Watch out for the Wolverines
Another team that has recently been getting some buzz around Walker’s recruitment is Michigan. Juwan Howard is on a roll recently in recruiting and landing Walker would be another huge player for the program. If he enrolled early, he would join one of the best teams in college basketball.
The Prediction
As of right now, my pick for Walker is Arkansas. However, Western Kentucky should not be counted out, as they are very much in this recruitment. Michigan is currently seen as a dark horse in my eyes right now. Do not count out the possibility of Walker playing professional basketball overseas. But chances are he will play college basketball this season.
