The dynamic playmaker out of West Mecklenburg high school in North Carolina chose the Tar Heels over Alabama, Michigan, Ohio State, and Virginia Tech that had rounded out his Top 5. In the end, head coach Larry Fedora was able to keep the homegrown talent in state, a major coup for the Heels.
Brown is the number one ranked wide receiver in the state of North Carolina. He had 999 (so close! Come on, scorer! Give him one more yard!) yards receiving last season to go along with 14 touchdowns. However, Brown is quite the accomplished defensive back as well, as he logged 5 interceptions and 25 tackles.
That versatility will serve him well on the Tar Heels, as they continue to be a team trending upward. With Brown’s commitment, that trend continues.
