Just a week after announcing his final six schools, Malik Vann announces his commitment to the Cincinnati Bearcats. Malik had seemed to be a long time Michigan State lean but the Bearcats and Head Coach Luke Fickell had other plans. Vann is a four star Defensive End out of Fairfield, Ohio, who uses his size to overpower his opponents and could have gone to virtually any school in the nation. The fact that the talented end chose Cincinnati over the likes of Alabama, Michigan State, and others is a huge win for the Bearcats in the 2018 recruiting cycle. The four star Defensive End stated, “It is time for a change,” in his commitment tweet, which has Cincy fans FIRED up and has made Vann an instant fan-favorite in this recruiting class.
In fact, the announcement for the Bearcats surprised not just Pypeline, but other recruits and friends of Malik. Four star Defensive Tackle, Aeneas Hawkins, and the #1 Offensive Tackle in the nation, Jackson Carman, seemed to have been surprised about Vann’s commitment to the Bearcat’s as well. See below for their reactions.
Aeneas Hawkins:
