The more things change, the more they stay the same. Alabama continues to be the top ranked team in the country. And the gap is seemingly widening. As teams behind them continue to drop off, the Tide continue to challenge the highest scoring average/game in college football history.

The Cocktail Party
After their early season loss to Kentucky, who would’ve thought that by the time the Cocktail Party rolled around that Florida would be a Top 10 team. But here we are. The Gators are having a sneaky good year on D. They’re ranked in the top 25 in defense in yards/game and in the top 15 in points/game. Head coach Dan Mullen has the team hitting on all cylinders at the right time.
Their Bulldog counterparts are licking their wounds, after coming off a complete ass kicking convincing loss at LSU. Georgia only has one loss, but seem like they’re lacking something this year. Perhaps it’s the QB debate between incumbent Jake Fromm and true freshman Justin Fields. Whatever it is, something seems…off. But a win against their rivals would go a long way toward righting the ship.
Top 25 Match-ups
Don’t look now, but #15 Iowa is slowly creeping up the rankings. Now, the Hawkeyes really have a chance to move up even further, as they visit #18 Penn St in Happy Valley. A win there for the underdog Hawkeyes and they could be flirting with a Top 10 ranking. However, because they lost to Wisconsin earlier in the year, they’ll need the Badgers to slip up to give them a path to the B1G Championship game. But first things first this weekend.
The other Top 25 match-up is #13 Washington St visits #25 Stanford. Wazzu is coming off a YUGE home win/party vs Oregon, as it was also the first time that Gameday had ever visited Pullman. Will this be a letdown game for the Cougs? VERY dangerous game for them, as Stanford is always a solid, veteran team. And with them playing at home, it will be tough sledding for Cougs QB Garnder Minshew.
