Ohio State received some great news this week as Sampson James announced his commitment to the Buckeyes. James is a top 10 RB in the nation for the 2019 class and top 150 nationally. It has been somewhat of a slow start for the Buckeyes, but things have started to pick up. Sampson is just the 3rd commitment of the class, but 2 of those 3 commitments have come within this month. It seems that Urban Meyer is prioritizing the running game so far, as their other two commitments are offensive lineman.

It didn’t take long for the Avon, Indiana native to decide that Columbus was the place he wanted to be. James visited Ohio State this past weekend and fell in love with almost every aspect. In fact, Sampson didn’t plan on announcing before he traveled to the Buckeye campus. It hit him while he was on the visit, and after a talk with family he decided it was time to pull the trigger. One of his family members is 2020 jumbo-athlete Nathaniel James. If Urban Meyer decides to pursue the younger James, it will be hard for any other team to beat them out for his services.
Standing at 6’1″ and 210 pounds, and has all the makings of an all-star. He is an absolute bruiser who can run through you or around you. Sampson is a freaking beast in comparison to his current high school competition. He has been in the weight room constantly and it is starting to show. The 4 star running back has also been running track in order to increase his speed. Not only has he shown that he is a top notch recruit, but he is not going to let anyone stop him from perfecting his craft. The Ohio State Buckeyes got a BIG TIME player in this one. We can’t wait to see him dominate B1G defenses.
