Ranking 2020 MAC Defensive Linemen

Unfortunately, there won’t be any MAC football this year. However, that doesn’t meant there aren’t some star players that deserve the spotlight. These are the top defensive lineman in MAC.

1. DE Ali Fayad – Western Michigan

Fayad is a sack machine who often finds himself in the backfield wreaking havoc. In his career he’s totaled 103 tackles, 29.5 tackles for loss, 12.5 sacks, and 5 forced fumbles.

2. DE Malcolm Koonce – Buffalo

Koonce is an elite sack machine and a name you should know. In Koonce’s time at Buffalo he has made 79 tackles, 16 tackles for loss, 12 sacks, and he has forced 4 fumbles.

3. DE Taylor Riggins – Buffalo

Riggins has been spectacular for the Bulls. So far he has totaled 79 tackles, 16 tackles for loss, 13.5 sacks, and he has 1 forced fumble.

4. NT Ralph Holley – WMU

Holley is one of the top returning G5 players in college football. In his career he has 69 tackles, 20 tackles for a loss, 9.5 sacks, and 1 forced fumble.

5. DE Jamal Hines – Toledo

Jamal Hines has had an enormous first two seasons. Hines has totaled 101 tackles, 17.5 tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, 2 interceptions, and 2 fumble recoveries.

6. DE LaQuan Johnson – Central Michigan

Johnson had a breakout season in 2019 as a freshman. He recorded 33 tackles, 6 sacks, 13 tackles for a loss, and 4 QB hits.

7. DE Austin Conrad – Ohio

Conrad has been an excellent player for the Bobcats in his career. He’s totaled 61 tackles, 14.5 tackles for a loss, 5.5 sacks, 1 interceptions, and 2 forced fumbles.

8. DE Kameron Butler – Miami OH

Butler lives in the backfield making plays. In his career he’s totaled 51 tackles, 14 tackles for a loss, 5.5 sacks, 1 pass breakup, and 1 fumble recovery.
