FCS Wide Receivers to Know in 2021

While many college football fans may know wide receiverss throughout the country, there are many that fly under the radar. That’s why we’re shining a spotlight on the FCS. These are the FCS wide receivers that you need to know in 2021.

Jakob Herres – VMI


Herres was sensational this spring and really caught my attention. He had 80 receptions for 978 yards and 8 touchdowns. In his career, he’s caught 179 passes for 2,506 yards and 21 TDs.

Jequez Ezzard – Sam Houston


Ezzard was a big reason why the Bearkats won the National Championship. He was phenomenal, catching 38 passes for 861 yards and 9 touchdowns. He also rushed for 1 TD and had 2 Punt Return TDs.

Xavier Gipson – Stephen F. Austin


Gipson really impressed me in 2020. He caught 52 passes for 841 yards and 9 touchdowns.

Tyler Hudson – Central Arkansas


Hudson is an amazing receiver. In 2020, he caught 50 passes for 845 yards and 7 touchdowns. He also had a Punt Return TD.

Avante Cox – SIU


Cox is an elite player. In his career he’s caught 113 passes for 1,455 yards and 10 touchdowns. He’s also rushed for 450 yards and 4 touchdowns.

Talolo Limu Jones – EWU


Limu Jones is one of the best WRs in CFB. He’s caught 90 passes for 1,600 yards and 15 touchdowns in his career.

Ty King – Samford


King was a force this spring. He’s a versatile player who caught 33 passes for 609 yards and 3 touchdowns. He also had 431 Kick Return yards.

Keyion Dixon – EKU


Dixon is an athletic 6’3″ receiver who makes big plays for EKU. In 2020, he caught 37 passes for 607 yards and 6 touchdowns.

Antwane Wells Jr – JMU


Wells Jr was OUTSTANDING this spring as a Freshman. He was a big play threat who averaged 18.3 yards per catch. He caught 33 passes for 603 yards and 6 touchdowns. Bright future ahead.

Damoriea Vick – Missouri State


Vick had an excellent season last year. He caught 45 passes for 596 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Landon Lenoir – SIU


Lenoir is one of the top receivers in the FCS. In his career, he’s caught 143 passes for 1,739 yards and 9 touchdowns.

Ife Adeyi – Sam Houston


Adeyi is a big time player for the Bearkats. In his career he’s got 1,101 receiving yards and 8 touchdowns, and he’s also rushed for 172 yards and 3 touchdowns.

Jacquez Jones – EKU


Jones is a former transfer from the Vols. In 2020, he caught 40 passes for 578 yards and 4 touchdowns, which is better than any Tennessee player did last season.

Michael Carner – San Diego


Carner made a big name for himself this spring. Everyone took notice of his play. He caught 35 passes for 538 yards and 4 touchdowns. He also rushed for 1 TD.

CJ Turner – SE Louisiana


Turner is an electrifying player. He’s elusive and has excellent quickness. This spring he caught 44 passes for 534 yards and 5 touchdowns and also rushed for 1 TD.

Garrett Maag – North Dakota


Maag has great hands and was a big reason for the success this spring by North Dakota. He tallied 25 passes for 523 yards and 3 touchdowns.

Lujuan Winningham – Central Arkansas


Winningham is a TOUCHDOWN MACHINE! He’s a big play threat and outstanding in the red zone. In 2020, he caught 33 passes for 429 yards and 9 touchdowns.

Javon Antonio – Northwestern State


Antonio caught 31 passes for 521 yards and 4 touchdowns in only 5 games this spring. I’m excited to see what he can do this fall.

Ty James – Mercer


James was super impressive in 2020. He caught 30 passes for 518 yards and 3 touchdowns, averaging 17.3 yards per catch.

Dai’Jean Dixon – Nicholls


Dixon was unstoppable this spring, and the Nicholls offense thrived with him being a key part. He caught 35 passes for 514 yards and 7 touchdowns and also rushed for 1 TD.

Javon Conner – SE Louisiana


Conner caught 39 passes for 493 yards in 6 games this spring. Conner is an elusive player who’s hard to bring down in open space.

Cyrus Holder – Duquesne


Holder caught 23 passes for 491 yards and 5 touchdowns in 5 games this spring.

Jackson Beerman – EKU


Beerman is a perfect name for someone who lives it up on Saturdays. He’s a 6’5″ receiver who should have a big season this fall. In 2020, he had 1 passing TD and caught 27 passes for 482 yards and 1 TD.

Dennis Houston – WIU


Houston caught 43 passes for 477 yards and 2 touchdowns this spring in 6 games. In his career, he’s got 1,016 receiving yards.

Robert Ferrell – UIW


Ferrell was incredible this spring and a big reason why UIW had an explosive offense. This spring, he caught 35 passes for 474 yards and 6 touchdowns and also rushed for 1 TD.

Jaxon Janke – South Dakota State


Janke is one of the best WRs in the FCS and will be a force for the Jackrabbits once again this fall. In his career, he’s caught 61 passes for 826 yards and 10 touchdowns.

Freddie Roberson – EWU


Roberson is one of the top WRs in the Big Sky. In his career, he’s caught 47 passes for 690 yards and 4 TDs and also rushed for 1 TD.

BJ Byrd – Morehead State


Byrd was an absolute machine this spring. He caught 31 passes for 467 yards and 8 touchdowns and also had a Kick Return TD.

Tre Wolf – UIW


Wolf was a pleasant surprise this spring. In 6 games he caught 31 passes for 464 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Cody Chrest – Sam Houston


Chrest is a transfer from Harvard who was spectacular this spring. He caught 41 passes for 463 yards and 2 touchdowns this spring and helped lead the Bearkats to a National Championship.

Colton Dowell – UT Martin


Dowell is one of the best WRs in the FCS. In his career he’s caught 88 passes for 1,362 yards and 11 touchdowns, averaging 15.5 yards per catch.

Joshua Matthews – McNeese


Matthews was a 2020-2021 3rd team All-Southland Conference performer. He caught 32 passes for 458 yards and 4 touchdowns.

Cam Wyche – Tennessee State


Wyche is a former transfer from Lindsey Wilson. This spring he caught 22 passes for 456 yards and 2 touchdowns. Remember the name!

Thyrick Pitts – Delaware


Pitts was great this spring for Delaware. He caught 29 passes for 451 yards and 3 touchdowns.

Donnell Williams – UT Martin


Williams has caught 53 passes for 704 yards and 6 touchdowns in his career. Williams was a 2020-2021 All-OVC second team player.

Christian Watson – NDSU


Watson is a versatile do-it-all player for the Bison. This spring, he rushed for 116 yards, caught 19 passes for 442 yards and 1 TD and had 2 Kick Return touchdowns.

A.J. Toney – Samford


Toney is a quick, elusive receiver. This spring, he caught 41 passes for 437 yards and 1 touchdown.

LaMartez Brooks – Murray State


Brooks was impressive this spring. In 7 games, he caught 37 passes for 429 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Kris Thornton – JMU


Thornton, a former VMI transfer, caught 26 passes for 428 yards and 3 touchdowns this spring in 8 games.

Jadon Janke – South Dakota State


Janke was a big reason for the Jackrabbits’ success this spring. He caught 21 passes for 425 yards and 5 touchdowns.

Ethan Dirrim – Mercer


Dirrim was a monster in 2020 as a Freshman. He caught 22 passes for 417 yards and 4 touchdowns. He also rushed for 22 yards and had 1 kick return TD.

Zabrian Moore – Alabama A&M


Moore was a beast this spring in just 3 games. He caught 13 passes for 363 yards and had 5 touchdowns.

Terrance Greene Jr – Monmouth


Greene Jr is a big time playmaker. In his career he’s caught 104 passes for 1,483 yards and 15 touchdowns.

Lonnie Moore IV – Monmouth


Moore IV is a pass catching machine and one of the top WRs in the FCS. In his career, he’s caught 140 passes for 1,956 yards and 13 touchdowns and rushed for 178 yards and 2 TDs.

Fotis Kokosioulis – Fordham


Kokosioulis caught 20 passes for 278 yards and 1 touchdown in 3 games this spring.

Mataio Talalemotu – Portland State


Talalemotu has caught 54 passes for 861 yards and 6 touchdowns in his career. On top of being an excellent player, he’s also an Academic standout.

Abdul-Fatai Ibrahim – Alabama A&M


Fatai-Ibrahim was spectacular this spring in 3 games. He caught 18 passes for 277 yards and 3 touchdowns.

Yogi Flager – Butler


Flager impressed me this spring. He caught 24 passes for 387 yards and a TD and was a Hero Sports Freshman All-American. Bright future ahead for this young man.

Shaq Davis – South Carolina State


Davis is a big play threat who caught 31 passes for 632 yards and 6 touchdowns in 2019, averaging 20.4 yards per catch.

Gabe Sulser – Montana


Sulser has caught 26 passes for 341 yards and 5 touchdowns in his career and also rushed for 161 yards and 1 TD.

Brandon Sanders – Bucknell


Sanders is a pass catching machine. In his career, he’s caught 125 passes for 1,310 yards and 5 touchdowns and also rushed for 1 TD.

Jalen Kelsey – Campbell


Kelsey is a phenomenal receiver for the Camels. In his career, he’s caught 48 passes for 758 yards and 8 touchdowns.

Phoenix Sproles – NDSU


Phoenix is the cousin on Darren Sproles and he’s got the family athleticism and agility. In his career, he’s rushed for 101 yards and 2 TDs and caught 38 passes for 575 yards and 3 touchdowns.

Brandon Porter – NAU


Porter is a dynamic receiver. In his career, he’s caught 122 passes for 1,660 yards and 11 TDs and he’s also rushed for 431 yards and 1 TD.

Stacy Chukwumezie – NAU


Chukwumezie is one of the top returning receivers in the FCS. In his career, he’s caught 70 passes for 1,297 yards and 9 touchdowns and rushed for 1 TD.

Hendrix Johnson – NAU


In 2019, as a Freshman Johnson caught 60 passes for 828 yards and 5 touchdowns. He’s got great hands and his route running is a strength.

Coleman Owen – NAU


Owen caught 16 passes for 202 yards and 2 touchdowns in 5 games in 2020. Expect a bigger 2021 season.

Justin Smith – Norfolk State


Smith will have a big season in 2021. In his career, he’s caught 51 passes for 983 yards and 8 touchdowns.

Julian Hicks – Albany


Hicks is a transfer from Akron. In his career, he’s caught 55 passes for 543 yards and 6 touchdowns. Expect him to make an enormous impact for Albany.
