Chris Holtmann keeps one of the top recruits in the state of Ohio home. Four star guard, Malaki Branham, has committed to Ohio State. He chose the Buckeyes over Alabama, Baylor, Xaiver, Louisville, and many others. Branham is a top 30 recruit in the nation and a member of the 2021 class.
Malaki Branham is a 6’4 guard from Akron, Ohio. His athleticism is his strong suit. He uses his athleticism to the rim with ease and score at high level. He also has potential to be a very good defender. Many expected Branham to stay in state for college and play for the Buckeyes. Ohio State has always been seen as the “favorite”. Although, Louisville and Xavier were definitely in the mix at one point as well. He has finally made it official and committed to Ohio State.
Malaki Branham is not alone in Ohio State’s recruiting class this cycle. He will be joining four stars Meechie Johnson and Kalen Etzler. This is a very good recruiting class for Chris Holtmann. The Buckeyes now have a top ten recruiting class in the entire country. Ohio State has been a very good program since Holtmann has taken over. They have been one of the more competitive teams in the Big Ten and I expect that to continue for years to come.
