26 days until college football returns

There are only 26 days until the return of college football. In honor of those 26 days we honor the life and incredible career of Miami Hurricane, #26 Sean Taylor. Taylor was a hard-nosed safety that could cover ground or come up and lay the wood. However, he was definitely most known for his big hits. As a freshman, Taylor proved himself useful in the Hurricane secondary and played a part in Miami’s 2001 national championship run.

Taylor’s Sophomore season is where he really began to shine. The Florida product recorded 85 tackles, 4 sacks, 4 interceptions, 1 forced fumble, and he also broke up 15 passes. That was good enough to be voted as second-team All Big East. Those are definitely some impressive stats, but his Junior season was even better. Taylor intercepted the ball 10 times, 3 of which he returned for touchdowns. He was a unanimous 1st team All American, 1st team all Big East, and was voted Big East Defensive player of the year. Sean Taylor is certainly missed! Check back tomorrow to see what is next on the Countdown to College Football.
