Today marks 94 days until college football returns. We will count down the days until then.
In 1994, while playing for FCS Alcorn St, the great Steve McNair turned heads of NFL scouts everywhere, as he had a season for the ages. He was originally offered a full scholarship to play RB at the University of Florida. However, McNair wanted to play QB, and committed to Alcorn St. That paid off and then some for the QB, especially in 1994. That year McNair set FCS records for most yards per game (527 yds/gm), most 400+ yard games in a season (9 games), and most yards in a season with 5,799 yds (4,863 passing, 936 rushing). That huge year helped push him to the top of the record books for career yards with 16,823. Steve went on to be drafted by the Tennessee Titans, becoming an NFL MVP.
