Today marks 92 days until college football returns. We’ll count down the days until then.
Offensive coordinators must’ve had nightmares about playing Tennessee and seeing #92 Reggie White on the other side of the ball. White was a one-man wrecking crew. During his career with the Vols, he recorded 293 tackles, including 32 sacks. His 15 sacks in 1983 are a school record. His stats also include 19 tackles-for-loss, 4 fumble recoveries, and 7 passes batted down. In 1983, the “Minister of Defense” was a Lombardi Award finalist, the SEC Player of the Year, and a consensus All-American. He is a College Football Hall of Famer, and his #92 has been retired by Tennessee.
PS – although they’re not college highlights, we’d be remiss if we didn’t include a video of Reggie White’s infamous “hump move.” Watch how he tosses the Cowboys’ 325 lb Larry Allen, one of the greatest O-lineman in NFL history, out like a sack of garbage. Un. Real.
