There are 81 days until college football returns. Today we look back at the best ever to play at Notre Dame, #81 Tim Brown.

Brown didn’t get the nickname “Touchdown Timmy” by accident. In 1984, he burst onto the scene, setting an Irish school record for freshman with 28 receptions. During his junior year, he set a school record with 1,937 all-purpose yards. In 1987, Brown amassed 1,847 all-purpose yards and 8 TDs. He was a unanimous All-American, won the Walter Camp Award, Sporting News Player of the Year, UPI Player of the Year, and ultimately the Heisman Award. He became the first wide receiver ever to win the award. Tim Brown finished his career at Notre Dame with 2,493 receiving yards, 22 touchdowns, and a school record 5,024 all-purpose yards. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2009.
