76 days until college football returns

There are 76 days until college football returns. Today, we look at one of the most fearsome defenders ever to grace the gridiron, Miami’s #76 Warren Sapp.

Highly recruited all over the country, Sapp chose The U. He would win a National Championship with the Hurricanes in 1991. And he was just getting started. By 1994, he was a force on one of the biggest programs in the country. He was voted a consensus All-American. That year he won so much hardware that he needed a dump truck to carry it all. He took home the Lombardi Award, the Bronco Nagurski Award, the Bill Willis Award, and was an Outland Trophy finalist. He also nabbed the Big East Defensive Player of the Year. To top it off, he took home the Defensive Player of the Year from the Football Writers Association of America. In 1995, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers drafted him in the 1st round of the NFL Draft.

Despite his stellar, much-decorated career, Warren Sapp is inexplicably not in the College Football Hall of Fame.
