The date has finally been set for Top 10 prospect, Owen Pappoe, to announce his college decision. The Army All-Amerian linebacker out of Loganville, GA (Grayson) is the #1 player at his position and #7 overall in the nation in the 2019 class. Fortunately for all his fans, the wait will not be too long, as Owen has picked May 5th as the date that he will make his future home known to the public. It has been quite a while since Pappoe has made an announcement in regards to his recruitment, as he announced his Top 3 back in November of last year. Back then his Top 3 consisted of Clemson, UGA, and Nebraska, but things seemed to have changed since then.

Pappoe visited both Auburn and Tennessee at the beginning of this month, and this has seemed to have really put both of these schools in the thick of it. At this point, it is pretty safe to say that this recruitment is now a battle between Auburn, UGA, and Tennessee. Although the Peach State native will not make his announcement until May 5th, we believe the writing is on the wall.

There has always been one consistency for Pappoe and that would be that his interest in the Bulldogs has never waivered. They have seemed to be the favorite for quite some time and that comes as no surprise. UGA is one of the best schools at keeping talent that comes from their own backyard. The Bulldogs already have commitments from the #1 and #3 players in the state of Georgia for 2019, WRs Jadon Haselwood and Dominick Blaylock, respectively, and we predict they get #2 Owen Pappoe.
While all of this may be true, one would still need to watch out for Auburn in this race as well. They might not have been a factor towards the end of last year but they have started to come on strong. Owen has visited their campus twice in the past couple of months, and that could be a telling sign. Pappoe is also teammates with top OL Wanya Morris, who recently revealed a top two of Auburn and Tennessee.
