Top TE Mustapha Muhammad announces top 5

One of the nation’s top tight ends in the 2018 class, Mustapha Muhammad, announced his top five schools on live television, and all five must be stoked to still be in the race for this kid. The list consists of Michigan, UCLA, Texas, Clemson, and LSU. Muhammad is an absolute freak athlete, standing at around 6’5″ and 240 pounds. He completely dominates the tough high school competition in Texas.

Muhammad says that Clemson made the cut because of the offensive numbers that they have been able to put up, and he fits their offense well. We completely agree and think he could put up huge numbers, if he winds up with Dabo Swinney and the Tigers. He also says that their gameday atmosphere played a role in this decision as well. LSU was a team that stuck out to him because he has had an eye on them for quite some time now. He also has ties in Baton Rouge as one of his uncles was a former LSU coach. Michigan was able to find themselves on the list because Coach Harbaugh has been on this kid since the beginning, and they have built quite the relationship with Mustapha. Muhammad also says that he loves the city of Austin, which is what put the Longhorns in his top five as well. Tom Herman is off to a great start with Texas and the UT faithful have something to be excited about. UCLA is on his list because he loves the city of LA, and he can’t wait for the official visit out there.

It seems that all of these schools are on a level playing field for this kid, but we really feel that you have to watch out for Michigan here. Harbaugh really has done a great job in this recruitment, and they have Mustapha believing that he would be a great fit in their offense. We absolutely agree with this, but with the talent this kid has we believe that he could be successful in almost any offense. Harbaugh and the Wolverines will have to keep fighting for this kid, but we think this one might fall their way.
