Top 2018 Freshman RBs

It’s time for the 2019 Pypeline True Freshmen Running Backs of the Year. These are players that stepped on campus and made an immediate impact with their team. With these guys toting the rock, the future is bright for each of these offenses.

Running Backs

Breece Hall – Iowa State

Hall will be one of the best RBs in CFB the next 2-3 years. This season he ran for 897 yards and 9 Touchdoswns. His quickness/strength combination will make him an elite College Football RB the next few years.

George Holani – Boise State

Holani was a 4⭐ recruit who knew he would make an immediate impact for the Broncos and he did just that. This season he rushed for 1,014 yards 7 TDs and had 206 receiving yards to go along with 3 receiving TDs.

Zonovan Knight – NC State

Knight stepped up this season and averaged 5.5 yards per carry. He rushed for 745 yards and 5 Touchdowns and showed the ACC he will be a problem the next few seasons.

Isaiah Spiller – Texas A&M

Spiller rushed for 946 yards 10 touchdowns and caught 29 passes for 203 yards. He’s an elusive runner who should go over 1,000 yards rushing next season.

Tyler Goodson – Iowa

Goodson rushed for 638 yards and 5 touchdowns averaging 4.8 yards per carry. He also caught 24 passes for 166 yards. With QB Nate Stanley departing for the #NFL the Hawkeyes will need Goodson to carry the load in 2020.

Re’Mahn Davis – Temple

Davis stepped up big for the Owls this season with 936 rushing yards 8 TDs averaging 4.8 ypc. Davis also added 15 receptions for 181 yards and 2 TDs. Bright future ahead for Davis and the Temple offense.

Roschon Johnson – Texas

Johnson averaged 5.3 yards per carry totaling 649 rushing yards and 7 Touchdowns. He also added 23 catches for 158 yards and 1 TD.

Kenneth Walker III – Wake Forest

Walker stepped up big when RB Cade Carney was out with an injury. He had 579 rushing yards and 4 TDs averaging 5.9 yards per carry. Expect a big season from Walker in 2020.

Noah Cain – Penn State

Cain was one of four RBs in the Nittany Lions rotation but he made a name for himself and jumped into the top two early on. Cain rushed for 443 yards 8 TDs averaging 5.3 yards per carry.

Wan’Dale Robinson – Nebraska

Robinson is a versatile APB who excels in the rushing & passing attack. This season he had 340 rushing yards 3 TDs, 40 receptions for 453 yards 3 TDs and he also added 236 Kick Return yards.

Zach Charbonnet – Michigan

Charbonnet was one of the best True Freshman in CFB this season. He rushed for 726 yards and 11 Touchdowns averaging 5 yards per carry.

Jerrion Ealy – Ole Miss

Ealy is a versatile and agile back who excels rushing and in the passing game. This season he had 722 rushing yards with 6 touchdowns averaging 6.9 ypc. He hauled in 20 passes for 172 yards 1 TD & also had a KR TD.

Eric Gray – Tennessee

Gray rushed for 539 yards and 4 Touchdowns averaging 5.3 yards per carry this season. He hauled in 13 passes for 115 yards & 1 TD as well. The Vols O-Line will be great next season which will help gray tremendously.

Sincere McCormick – UTSA

McCormick was one of the best True Freshman of 2019 who you might not know about. This season he rushed for 983 yards 8 TDs averaging 5.6 yards per carry. He added 24 catches for 194 yards 1 TD through the air.

Keshawn King – Virginia Tech

King was a 4⭐ from Florida who the Hokies landed. This season he had 340 rushing yards 2 TDs, 9 rec 154 yards and established himself on special teams with 168 KR yards.

Vincent Davis – Pittsburgh

Davis was a big spark for the Panthers this season at RB. He had 314 rushing yards for 5 TDs averaging 5.1 yards per carry. Davis is an elusive back with speed who will have a bigger season in 2020.

Other Notable RBs

Joachim Bangda – Kent State • 291 Rushing yards, 6.5 yards per carry 1 TD.

Jordan Wilmore – Utah • 194 rushing yards 1 TD.
