Catching up with the weekend’s Top 25 college basketball action in 25 sentences.

#5 Kentucky 86 #1 Tennessee 69 (Nice!)

Led by 23 pts from PJ Washington, the Wildcats have still never lost back to back home games under John Calipari. Tennessee was out Tennessee’d by Kentucky, as the Vols were physically dominated in every aspect of the game, including a -13 disparity on the boards.

#2 Duke 94 NC State 78

Zion Williamson (who?) had his 4th 30+ pt game of the season (32) and RJ Barrett recorded the 4th triple double in Blue Devils’ history (23 pts, 11 rips, 10 dimes).

#3 Gonzaga 79 San Diego 67

The Zags showed mettle by turning a tie at HT into a double digit win on the road, as they dominated the boards (+11) and shot lights out (58%).

#4 Virginia 60 Notre Dame 54

The Wahoos got 42 combined points from De’Andre Hunter & Kyle Guy, and gutted out a win, despite only shooting 36% from the field.

#6 Michigan 65 #24 Maryland 52

The Wolverines improved to 6-0 vs ranked teams this year, with 5 of those wins coming by 10+ points. The Terps shot 36% from the field, 27% from deep, and committed 16 turnovers on the road…ouch!

#7 Nevada 82 Wyoming 49

It was a powerbombing by the Wolfpack, as they had 5 players in double figures and shot 54% from the field in the well balanced effort on the road.

#8 North Carolina 95 Wake Forest 57

The Tar Heels shot a season high 62% from the field, on their way to the largest blowout in the 227(!!!) game series between the two teams.

#9 Houston 85 Tulane 50

Armoni Brooks and Corey Davis Jr led the Coogs with stellar guard play, as they shot a combined 17-27 (63%) from the field, including 14-19 (74%) from deep, as they combined for 50 pts…the same amount as the Green Wave.

#11 Michigan St 62 Ohio St 44

Tied at 42 with 7:40 left, Sparty finished the game on a 20-2 run to win going away.

#12 Purdue 76 Penn St 64

Boilermaker G Carsen Edwards scored 21 pts, his 19th 20+ pt game of the year, tops in the B1G.

St Johns 71 #13 Villanova 65

Gutty win by the Johnnies, as they rally from down 19 to stun the Wildcats, sending Villanova to their 2nd straight Big East loss, after they had won 15 in a row dating back to last year.

#14 Kansas 78 West Virginia 53

The Jayhawks have won 19 in a row at home (15-0 this year) with a 25-pt “ace-whipping” of the Mountaineers.

#15 Texas Tech 86 Baylor 61

The 25-pt Red Raiders’ win was the largest victory over the Bears since 2002.

#16 Louisville 56 Clemson 55

Louisville survived a late Clemson barrage, as Jordan Nwora saved the Cardinals from a second straight meltdown at home (they blew a 23-pt 2H lead to Duke earlier in the week).

#17 Florida St 69 (Nice!) Georgia Tech 47

The Seminoles defense suffocated the Yellow Jackets, holding them to a season low 27% from the field.

#23 Iowa St 78 #18 Kansas St 64

ISU was fire hot from deep, hitting a season high 14 3-pointers. Things went from bad to worse for the Wildcats, as Big 12 preseason player of the year Dean Wade left with an injury, and KSU snapped its 9-game conference winning streak.

#19 LSU 83 Georgia 79

Fresh off of beating Kentucky in Rupp at the buzzer, there was no letdown game for the Tigahs, as LSU’s 12th ranked Adjusted Offense in the nation shot 56% from the field.

#21 Iowa 71 Rutgers 69

Iowa shot a worse % from the field, was out rebounded, had fewer assists & steals, more turnovers, & somehow won on the road.

#22 Virginia Tech 70 Pittsburgh 64

Hokie F Kerry Blackshear Jr had a monster efficient day, leading VT to victory: 29 pts off 8-9 from the field & 10-11 from the stripe to go along with 9 rips.

#25 Buffalo 88 Toledo 82

Buffalo, already ranked for a MAC record 14 straight weeks, bounced back from shooting 0-9 from deep in the 1H, and shot 7-12 from deep in the 2H to pull away from the Rockets.
