Ohio State fill big need with SG Torrence Watson

Ohio State gets one of their first commitments in the 2018 recruiting class as St. Louis SG, Torrence Watson announced that he will be playing his college career in Columbus. The Buckeyes have plenty of scholarships to fill in this class, making this commitment that much bigger for them.

Torrence may not be the highest rated kid in the 2018 class but his versatility makes him special. He is an extremely athletic player, allowing him to guard multiple positions at the next level. Watson has really stepped up his shooting from three point rage over the past year and can be reliable from midrange as well. He excels at beating defenders in iso situations and has a knack for getting to the rim. Passing and avoiding turnovers are opportunity areas for Watson, but that will improve, as his feel for the game will develop over time. Although he may not start as a freshman, we expect him to be a multi-year starter for head coach Chris Holtmann and the Buckeyes. This is a big time pickup for them and tOSU fans should be ecstatic about his commitment.
