Nations Top OG Bryan Hudson commits to Va Tech

The Hokies are set to take the field for their spring game this upcoming weekend, April 14, and they couldn’t have started the week off any better. Top guard Bryan Hudson has announced his commitment to Virginia Tech. Hudson is a Four-star prospect and Top 10 guard overall. Bryan boasted over 20 offers around the nation from schools such as Alabama, Florida and others. Also, Hudson is listed as a top five player regardless of position in the state of Kentucky.

Although this commitment is well received, it does not come as a surprise to many. According to our friends over at “The Lunch Pail” blog, Tech lead this recruitment ever since Hudson visited. The Virginia Tech coaching staff told Bryan that he would be able to further himself in his football career as well as his track career in Blacksburg. That’s right, this 6’4″ 300 pound behemoth also runs track. Just kidding. He doesn’t run – he competes in the shot put and discus. Either way, being able to be good enough at both sports to compete at the collegiate level takes serious athleticism. Something that Hudson has plenty of.

As mentioned above, Hudson is listed at 300 pounds, but you couldn’t tell by looking at him. He seems very lean and nimble for someone of his stature. This makes sense as one of Hudson’s strengths is being able to get down field and block for his teammates. It is his competitive edge and mean streak that really separates him from the rest of the pack. Virginia Tech fans are going to love having this kid on their offensive line. He fits the blue collar mentality of Hokie nation. Watch for this kid to get in game action early and often for Tech. This will be a fun one to watch.
