We don’t often suggest betting on games between two 12-win CAA teams. And after the game between Delaware and Drexel, we would strongly recommend not betting on them even moreso. However, if you still insist, we wish you good luck. Not to mention, we’ll leave this right here, just in case.
Case in point, as the Drexel Dragons (you probably didn’t even know their nickname) overcame a 34 (!!!) point (!) deficit (!!) against the University of Delaware. It was the largest deficit ever overcome in Division I college basketball history, surpassing the former record set in 1950 (!!!) by the Duke Blue Devils led by Bobby Donningham (we just made that name up, but it sounded like a player from 1950 that would’ve played for Duke), as they overcame a 32-point margin versus Tulane.
Drexel was a -155 favorite on the moneyline (meaning just to win the game); Delaware was a +135 dog. That’s an implied probability of Delaware winning the game +41% of the time. When the score was 53-19 Blue Hens with 2:36 left in the 1st half, you had to feel pret-tay, pret-tay good, if you had the Delaware moneyline. Probably bought an extra round of chocolate milks for everyone that was gathered ’round watching a CAA game between two 12-win teams. o_O
