It’s time for Week 9 in college football. And it’s time for predictions. Lots of good football and interesting match-ups. Be sure to check out the ATS picks at the end.

Season Total 156-60

Top 25

(25) Boise State 31 Air Force 21

Boise looked great last week, but the option can be tough for teams. Air Force keeps this one close.

(24) Oklahoma 41 Texas Tech 27

The Sooners are coming off of wins vs Texas and TCU. Expect them to keep it rolling vs Texas Tech.

(23) Iowa State 45 Kansas 14

Expect QB Brock Purdy, RB Breece Hall, and the Cyclones offense to have a field day vs the Jayhawks.

(22) SMU 38 Navy 21

SMU took a beating last week at the hands of Cincinnati, but expect them to bounce back this week.

(20) Coastal Carolina 28 Georgia State 27

Coastal Carolina should be on upset alert. QB Grayson McCall will play, but it remains to be seen how effective he’ll be.

(17) Indiana 27 Rutgers 20

The Hoosiers are coming off a huge win against Penn State and Rutgers had 7 takeaways last week in a Win vs Michigan State. Rutgers is better than people realize, but the Hoosiers are legit. Indiana in a close one.

West Virginia 24 (16) Kansas State 17

Two weeks ago I predicted the exact WVU score vs Kansas, and last week I picked them to lose vs Texas Tech and they did. This week, I’m predicting them to knock off #16 Kansas State.

(15) UNC 27 UVA 24

Last week with Brennan Armstrong back at QB the Hoos played the Canes tough. They’ll do the same this week vs the Tar Heels.

(13) Michigan 37 Michigan State 14

The Wolverines looked great vs Minnesota, and I was impressed with QB Joe Milton. On the other hand the Spartans looked terrible vs Rutgers. Wolverines win big!

(11) BYU 49 WKU 16

Zach Wilson and BYU stay undefeated in a blowout win vs the Hilltoppers.

(10) Florida 35 Missouri 24

Missouri freshman QB Connor Bazelak has looked sharp, He will help the Tigers keep this one close.

(8) Texas A&M 27 Arkansas 20

The Razorbacks have been impressive under first year head coach Sam Pittman. They’ll put up a good fight in this game, but ultimately I have the Aggies winning.

(7) Cincinnati 31 Memphis 17

This game could be closer than I’m projecting, but after last week the Bearcats are the best team in the AAC.

(6) Oklahoma State 31 Texas 28

The Longhorns have the potential to pull an upset in this game. It’s crazy to say that about the 5th best roster in CFB talent wise, which Texas is, but that’s where the Longhorns are. Ultimately, I can’t trust Tom Herman, so I’m picking the Cowboys to stay undefeated.

(5) Georgia 24 Kentucky 10

Kentucky is a hard team to get a read on and Georgia has an excellent defense. Give me the Dawgs by two touchdowns.

(4) Notre Dame 35 Georgia Tech 17

The Irish stay undefeated heading into a big match-up vs #1 Clemson next week.

(3) Ohio State 35 (18) Penn State 24

The Buckeyes have too much talent and too good of a QB to lose this game. Penn State plays tough and keeps this somewhat close but the Buckeyes win.

(2) Alabama 52 Mississippi State 14

The Crimson Tide win BIG vs Mike Leach and the Bulldogs.

(1) Clemson 35 Boston College 17

Boston College has potential to score some points, and they will. But the Tigers will score more.

Top Unranked Games

LSU 31 Auburn 24

This game could go either way, but Auburn hasn’t impressed me in any game. Give me LSU.

Virginia Tech 38 Louisville 31

Here’s another toss up game. The Hokies defense has looked abysmal, but the Cards defense isn’t that much better. Both teams have capable offenses. Expect this game to be high scoring.

UCF 41 Houston 38

The Knights, led by QB Dillon Gabriel, can score on anyone, but the defense has struggled. Expect this game to be a high scoring affair.

Purdue 33 Illinois 28

Purdue WR David Bell is one of the most impressive players in CFB. He had three touchdowns last week. The Illinois secondary looked terrible vs Wisconsin. So expect the Boilermakers to score often. But the Illini keep it close.

TCU 27 Baylor 23

This in-state battle will have recruiting ramifications even though it doesn’t have Big 12 ramifications with each team having multiple conference losses.
