Catching up with the weekend’s Top 25 college basketball action in 25 sentences.

#1 Gonzaga 69 St Mary’s 55

The Zags shot 53% from the field, and turned a 2-pt HT score into a 14-pt blowout.

#2 Virginia 73 Pittsburgh 49

The Hoos D held a team under 50 points for a 10th time this season, tops in the nation.

#3 Duke 87 Miami 57

RJ Barrett recorded his 7th double-double of the year with 19 pts, 10 rips, & 7 dimes.

#7 Tennessee 71 #4 Kentucky 52

The Wildcats had season lows in FG% (32%) and points in the paint (10). In a revenge game, the Vols dominated, getting 27 pts from Jordan Bone, while leading for the last 30 mins of the game.

#5 North Carolina 81 Clemson 79

Twenty-eight points from Coby White helped the Tar Heels survive a tough road game & a bout of vertigo for Roy Williams (he left the game, but was fine afterward).

Indiana 63 # 6 Michigan St 62

Cassius Winston had 20 pts, 5 rips, & 3 dimes, but his last second shot fell short, as the Hoosiers beat a ranked team for the 2nd straight game (after losing 12 of 13 games).

UCF 69 #8 Houston 64

The Knights solidified their Tournament resume, while ending the Coog’s nation’s longest active home winning streak at 33.

#9 Michigan 69 #17 Maryland 62

The game was won at the FT for the Wolverines, as they shot almost the same from the field as Maryland (44% vs 43%), the same from 3pt (6-20 vs 6-20), but outscored the Terps by 7 at the FT line. All of Maryland’s starters scored double digits, but it wasn’t enough.

Creighton 66 #10 Marquette 60

Markus Howard went off (33 pts), but got no help, as no other Golden Eagle scored more than 7 pts.

#11 Texas Tech 81 TCU 66

The Red Raiders kept pace to potentially win the Big 12 with their 7th win in a row.

Utah St 81 #12 Nevada 76

Things got heated as 1st place for the Mountain West was on the line, and the Wolfpack only shot 36% from the field to drop to 2nd place in the conference.

#13 LSU 74 Alabama 69

The Tigahs got 20 pts from Skylar Mays (16 in the 2H), and are now 8-0 on in the road in the SEC.

#14 Purdue 86 Ohio St 51

It was #BoilerUp & #HammerDown, as the Boilermakers finished undefeated at home for only the 2nd time since 1970.

#15 Kansas 72 Oklahoma St 67

Dedric Lawson dropped 20 pts with 15 rips, as the Jayhawks finished the game on an 8-0 run over the final 4:00.

#16 Kansas St 66 Baylor 60

KSU kept pace with Texas Tech in the race for the Big 12 title by forcing Baylor into 19 turnovers with their defense.

#18 Florida St 78 NC State 73

Mfiondu Kabengele (say that 3x fast) gave the Noles a YUGE boost with a team high 16 pts & 4 swats off the bench.

#19 Wisconsin 61 Penn St 57

Despite being down 7 pts at HT, it was 19 home wins in a row for #19 Wisconsin against Penn St.

#20 Virginia Tech DNP

#21 Buffalo 77 Miami (OH) 69

The Bulls started the game on an 18-0, and never looked back for their 7th win in a row.

Rutgers 86 #22 Iowa 72

The Hawkeyes have lost 3 of 4, as the Scarlet Knights got their 1st road win against a ranked teams since 2006.

#23 Cincinnati 71 Memphis 69

Logan Johnson stole the ball with :01 left to preserve a Bearcats gutty conference win.

#24 Wofford 85 Samford 64

If you haven’t heard of Fletcher Magee, you need to plug in because the Terrier guard dropped 36 pts (8-14 deep) and he leads the country in 3pt FGM.

PS – Do yourself a favor and give Rashad Phillips (above tweet) a follow. As you can see, he’s always ahead of the curve. He’s one of the best in the biz, and you will get b-ball knowledge on top of b-ball knowledge.

#25 Washington 62 Stanford 61

Fresh off their embarrassing loss at Cal, the Huskies held on at the buzzer against Stanford, as F KZ Okpala missed a 3 pointer would’ve won it for the Cards.
