24 days until college football returns

There are 24 days until college football returns. Today we remember Arizona St DE Terrell Suggs’ NCAA record of 24 sacks in a single season.

Terrell Suggs played for the Sun Devils from 2000 to 2002. In his career, he racked up 163 tackles & 65.5 tackles for loss. He was also a turnover-inducing machine. He created 14 forced fumbles, including 3 fumble recoveries, to go along with 2 interceptions. In 2002, he had a record setting year when he recorded an NCAA record with 24 sacks in a single season. That record along with his stellar season allowed him to be voted a first team All Pac-10 selection and the Pac-10 Defensive Player of the Year. He also was voted a unanimous first team All-American and picked up some hardware along the way. That year he took home the Bronco Nagurski Trophy. He also nabbed the Ted Hendricks Award for the nation’s top defensive end, as well as the prestigious Lombardi Award.
